Staying Safe While Traveling

Regardless of whether or not you are traveling with a companion or alone, there are a few things that you need to know to ensure that you will be safe. Traveling with another person always makes for safer travels, but that may not always be possible.

Another thing to keep in mind is where you carry your cash and wallet. While traveling, you should only carry a small amount of cash with you and keep your wallet in your front pocket when at all possible. For those who feel the need to carry a purse, keep it in a secure place at all times. If you are wearing a jacket, consider carrying it over your shoulder but under your jacket where it is less noticeable. When at all possible, take advantage of the safe that may be in the room you are staying in. Never leave valuables out in the open where anyone can see.

One last thought for safe travel: when you feel like someone may be following you, don't ignore the possibility that it could be happening to you. If this happens, be sure to head toward a highly populated area and don't be afraid to ask for help.
