Air port security checks change their rules almost daily now. The reason for the security checks is because it was air liners that was used to attack the U.S. on 9/11. Since then the check points were beefed up to make sure the people who fly on our air planes, are not going to blow it up and every thing that is near it. Air port security checks, can be a night mare, but, they are necessary.
After 9/11 the security was tightened and all people flying, were searched for: scissors, knives, guns and box cutters. When the shoe bomber, was found out and arrested, people who travel the air lines, had to take their shoes off and put them through the security scanner. We will probably have to take our shoes off as long as we travel by air. We also have to take our jackets off and put them on the conveyor belt. All our liquids carried on board can only be four or five ounces all together, and small enough to be placed into a clear baggie. Coin money, or anything that is in your pockets should be displayed on the security belt. Some times even you belt that holds up your clothes should be taken off and displayed to go through the scanner. If you have anything on you that will set off the alarm, when you pass through, will mean you will have to be patted down and searched.
Now the security rules have changed again, with the Christmas day bomber. Because he smuggled a bomb in his under ware on to a plane, we have to go through a scanner that will undress you. Thank God, it doesn't show your face, but only if you are carrying a weapon under your clothes.
All this can be time consuming, and uncomfortable. But, if we don't do this, we and our country is at peril. Be prepared before you get to the scanner, and it will go easier and save you time
